What is a wallbox charger?
A wallbox charger is a stand-alone unit which is wired directly into your domestic electricity supply. It’s mounted to the external wall of your property and allows you to quickly and easily plug your car in to charge.
With options for different households and budgets, installing an at home charger is the smoothest route to easy electric car charging.
Although the upfront cost of an electric vehicle is often higher, EVs can be cheaper to run, due to the lower cost of electricity compared to petrol or diesel. Recharging at home (overnight) will normally result in the greatest cost savings.
The majority of charging your vehicle will be done at home, usually overnight. If you have a driveway or garage, the cheapest and most convenient way is to install a dedicated chargepoint.
If you’re planning to install an EV chargepoint at home, you need to register the energy device with your Distribution Network Operator (DNO). The DNO is the company responsible for bringing electricity to your home. we, as your installer, will register the device for you.
The advantage of a chargepoint is that you charge while you sleep, waking up each day effectively with a ‘full tank’, meaning you’re less likely to require a street-side charger during the day. So you can stop planning each journey around your battery and start every day fully charged.
